Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is my dog too old to be trained?
A: It’s never too late to teach a dog new behaviors or improve their lifestyle. While younger dogs have an advantage in early imprinting, adult, and even senior dogs, can still learn and improve with consistent training.

Q: How long will it take to see results?
A: Many clients see noticeable improvement within the first few weeks / sessions. That said, every dog is different, and long-term change depends on consistency, commitment, and how long the unwanted behavior has been present.

Q: What kind of training methods do you use?
A: We use a balanced approach. This means we focus on teaching through clear communication, structure, and positive reinforcement, while also addressing unwanted behaviors with fair, humane corrections when necessary. Every dog is different, and our methods are tailored to the dog's individual needs. This approach helps build a confident, well-mannered companion both at home and out in the world.

Q: Do you guarantee results?
A: No trainer can ethically guarantee 100% results, especially without long-term owner follow-through. However, I guarantee 100% effort, personalized coaching, and ongoing support to help you reach lasting success with your dog.

Q: Will corrections hurt my dog?
A: No. Balanced training is not about pain or punishment. It’s about clear, fair communication. Corrections are carefully calibrated to your dog’s temperament and understanding, and are never used out of frustration or anger.

Q: Will I be involved in my dog’s training process?
A: Absolutely! Owner involvement is key to maintaining your dog’s progress after their time with us. At the end of the program, you’ll participate in a personalized 1-on-1 take-home session where you’ll learn all the skills your dog has learned. Ongoing support is provided to ensure you feel confident and successful as you continue your dog’s training at home.

Q: Can I observe the training sessions?
A: Yes! I encourage owners to join around the 2- or 3-week mark. This gives you a jumpstart by introducing you to the communication system your dog is learning, so by the time of the take-home session, you’ll already have a good understanding of the process.

Q: How do you ensure the safety and well-being of the dogs during training?
A: We prioritize your dog’s health and safety above all else. Before joining, each dog must provide proof of up-to-date vaccinations and a health clearance. While in our care, dogs stay in a clean, secure environment with a structured daily schedule that includes exercise, rest, and mental stimulation. Our board and train program is limited to only a few dogs at a time to ensure personalized attention and the highest level of care.

Q: What results can I expect from the program?
A: You can expect noticeable improvements in obedience, manners, and overall behavior. While no program can "fix" a dog overnight, we build a reliable foundation and give you the tools and support to maintain and strengthen those results at home.

Q: I’m nervous… will my dog come back totally different?
A: Your dog will still be your dog— We improve behavior, not personality. We simply bring out the best in them by creating structure, boundaries, and better habits.

Q: What should I bring when dropping off my dog?
A: Just their food and any required medications. We provide everything else, including crates, leashes, and training tools.

Q: Do you offer refresher sessions ?
A: Yes. If you ever feel your dog needs a touch-up or you're struggling with something specific, we’re happy to help reinforce the work.

Q: Do you offer private lessons?
A: Yes, we do. Private lessons are available with a minimum of 2 sessions, priced at $100 per session. Each session lasts 45 minutes to 1 hour and is tailored to your dog’s specific needs and your goals. Lessons are subject to availability.
